CPA FORUM (04/06/09)

ayan... inilagay q n s blog q ung copy nung forum naten kc there are a lot of people asking me for a copy.. eh para hindi paulit ulit ang pagssend q.... hehe sayang hndi q nakuha ung part 1.. pero ok lang,.. kapg nabasa m 'tong Part 2 eh parang nkaattend ka na rin dun s Part 1... this is just an excerpt of the forum though

Chroneicon: i have only three months to study and review so what i did: 1. create a timetable 2. write down what topics i still need some learning 3. plot iyong topics sa time table 4. and strictly follow it 5. be sure to write down notes for easy recall. acronyms will help too

chroneicon: and another strategy was my friends and i meet after lunch to study in groups

mabangis: wow that's a good one did you have any stumbling block

chroneicon: so lahat ng notes ng review schools e napaghahatian namin

mabangis: like you are tired of studying na at some point?

chroneicon: hindi na ako pumasok sa cpar i mean i decided na di na pumasok sa classes and self study na lang kasi late na rin ako sa topics kung papasok

mabangis: do your friends review from other review centers? chroneicon: sa loob ng 3 months, self study ako pero may photocopies ako ng mga notes from other review enters

lanie: opo sir manny, kailngan ang study plan

rence: s RESA ako ngreview gumawa rin ako ng study plan nun

mabangis: I think what chie has discussed is the same thing that happened to me

mabangis: which I discussed with the guys last time

chroneicon: can i recommend books na makakatulong sa kanila? or hindi?

mabangis: sure pede our aim is to help them pass whatever help you can give what books do you recommend?

chroneicon: BLT - reyes (red book) and suarez (2 white books) p1 - valix (maraming siyang books ahah) p2 - guerrero at de leon latestchroneicon:basta make sure na may at least 2 hours kayong relaxation a day promise!

arvin: galing nman!

exodusknight: hehe.. un actually ung favorite part ni chie dun.. ung relax... haha >:D<>

rence: parang hindi k yata ngawang mgrelax nung ngrereview ako

chroneicon: you need to relax

chroneicon: kung theories kapag nacompile mo lahat ng notes ng reivew centers good na iyon pero books ni valix will help

arvin: handouts r sufficient enough b?

chroneicon: compilation ng lahat ng handouts ng review centers i think okay na iyon

mabangis: I think handouts served their purpose very well because they are more updated than books most of the time created by reviewers as they do the review

chroneicon: you need to get them from students na nag-attend ng class

chroneicon: so rely ka rin sa notes ng review mate mo

mabangis: so it is true that a study plan works for you

chroneicon: for me yes

mabangis: the key is not the plan but how you follow that plan - discipline

chroneicon: but you have to strictly follow it don't overstudy if you know the topic already focus on those na hindi mo alam

mabangis: it is true that you need buddies to get you rolling and get you the other materials you need which leads me to my point today before anything else, know thyself

chroneicon1: group studies? depende sa kasama mo

mabangis: know what you know and where you are good at prioritize on the things that are hard for you and during the review try to get clarity on that even if you have to bug your reviewer or prof about it for them to help you, you have to let them know you want to learn remember that chances favored the prepared mind so if you are good at Prac 1, dont spend too much time on it during the review

chroneicon: true pero don't forget to review

mabangis: focus on what you do not know yet and those that are hard for you
so what you do is that on your study plan you only give it a smaller piece of your time we will get to that so basic stuff first know what you already know and dont know that's first because the second one is the Time management part where you are gonna sink all these information in

mabangis: like chie had before you have to work a plan first so you can plan your review after the reason this is important and I am happy that chie has done the same (and he is now a cpa) is that it helps get all the loopholes of the review to be patched sabi nga e you will leave no stones unturned in the course of the review you have to manage your time well because you will surely feel harrassed

rence: oo lalo n kung wikends mabangisand feel inadequate as you come near the exam day the pressure will mount and you will not notice this but you will cram like my classmates did I have my own study plan back then and I can tell you it extends beyond that you see I am a working student all my college days till review

chroneicon: true

rence: pareho pla tau sir manny

mabangis: and the only thing that keeps me in sane is how I handle time properly chroneicon: you can paste your notes sa walls nyo it helps i've done that bago matulog, notespagkagising, notes ang makikita mo

mabangis: you see, I have this yellow pad of paper back then

chroneicon: imposible na hindi mo makabisa ang formulas, acronyms mabangis: where I can see what subject I need to study at what time

chroneicon: if you "detain" yourself sa isang room full of notes mabangis: when is the time for work mabangis: when is the time to study

mabangis: when is the time to eat and relax as well mabangis: although I am the type that dont relax too much, I do spend time watching TV to relax

chroneicon: follow Sir Mann'ys advice, he know what he is saying mabangis: yun na ang relaxation ko

chroneicon: he knows*

mabangis: mahilig ako manuod nun ng Ang TV kids hehehe sensya na tanda na e

chroneicon: nyahaha

mabangis: so pag 5:30 TV time na
chroneicon: color your accomplishments sa timetable

mabangis: hehehehe same same

chroneicon: it makes you more aware sa things to do mo

mabangis: mine has tickmarks of different colors of pen I have a four color pen back then I tick it everytime I am done mabangis: gets you feel accomplished

chroneicon: haha, review days. ganyan din ako

mabangis: and you are getting confident everytime which leads me to the point How confident are you that you will pass the board exams? confidence is not something you will earn overnight mabangisbut it is important that you have it before you go to that exam day full of hope

chroneicon: yes chroneicon: true

mabangis: or full of fear

chroneicon: may i add sir Manny

mabangis: cge

chroneicon: it is good that you have confidence but don't be overconfident

chroneicon: having fear is normal

mabangis: that's right
